I got my optima yellow top at Advance auto 2 weeks ago bought it online on sale and picked it up $140 out the door
I noticed an awesome increase in draw and it basically stopped all the voltage drop i had (unless fill tilt while idling obviously)

picking up another one tomorrow so ill have one under my hood and one in the trunk

d@mn never thought about buying online and picking it up mine was almost 230.00 at advance auto, good thinking do it again!

Can you guys recommend me a second battery for the trunk? I was forced to trade my fried Soundstream amp for a Planet Audio Big Bang 1400 watt amp. Does 1400 watts @1ohm apparently.

Ran two of these in my last setup and they are stout azz batts. Why pay extra for the xs power sticker when the deka can perform just as well for 1/3rd the price.. Sry u blew ur stuff but I am willing to bet next time you will set it up correctly..

as long as "a" you have the receipt or "b" can remember the phone number you bought it under either one to verify the purchase date.

thats the thing about buying online bro your you can always print out your invoice/receipt at any time even if you get high and lose it

I buy a bunch of crap online but always forget i can pay at home and pick it up, like sears I just go instead of paying online and using my so-called points or what there giving me back for overcharging me for a d@mn socket I forget and run up and buy it then they go you got more points then it dawns on me but too late.

I've been recommended Optima Red tops(under the hood) so I may go with one of those, again Plantin, you could get an optima for cheap buying it off of advanceautoparts' website for like 135-140.

I'll then decide if I want to add Kinetik or XS Power batteries.

I was told by optima to only run like batterys of the same age for best result,s so yellow in the back yellow up front and they do not recommend reds for high power car audio as they are not deep cycle you will be using that warranty an awful lot and not really gaining all the performance that you could for switching out batterys, as for a red up front and yellow in the back different batterys will discharge at different rates and recharge at different rates as well hence the need for battery isolators in certain applications, but if you ran like batterys and deepcycle ones at that there is no need for an isolator or any other fancy type of power regulation system, it will go up and down in voltage together.

well overpriced a little, but they work for me and have for years! so go with what you know is the way I'm leaning. and I did research that's why I have a optima yellowtop, just one not two or three but just one and no issues other then user abuse! And they warranty that so yea optima is what I would recommend.

Optima is $$$$ junk....

Yellow or Red top, Group 34/78, bought online from Advance Auto is only $162 with free shipping, plus a $50 credit towards a future purchase.... I'm definitely not an Optima nuthugger, but that is notably less than comparable AGM's from Odyssey, etc.

Not sure why you'd say that they are "overpriced" ?

Would it be enough to beef up my electrical enough so that I don't have to worry about voltage drops destroying my amp?

How much do you want for it?

I think you've got other issues to worry about if you're getting that gnarly of a voltage drop with a 130a alt man. I'd check over all the grounds as well, make sure everything is clean with no resistance.

I'll go check all of the connections right now, but if I were to buy a yellow top optima, could I just stick it in the trunk and keep the stock battery under the hood? I'm not to sure on how batteries work. Also wouldn't it but lots of strain on my alternator?
