subs cut out at higher volume

i have 2 12" rockford fosgate punch subs with a rockford fosgate amp, and whenever i turn it up the subs cut out. i looked at the amp when this happens and no protection light comes on its just the power light that stays on so i was wondering maybe not enough power getting to the amp?

i would say check all of your wiring and if your poppn fuses or not.

its not popping fuses its not doing anything to the amp, power light stays on and thats it. if i turn the gain down on the amp then i can turn the cd player up louder without it cutting out

Your amp is going into protect, most likely due to overdriving it and either a clipping protection or thermal circuit is being tripped.

Keep the gains lower than you have now.

yea but then i can barely hear the bass and i mean for $400 it should be alot louder than that

For 400 bucks you could have upped your electrical so that it can handle a good system. =p
