sub woofer smoking?

i had this system installed in my other car and it played just fine. i installed the system in my new car a few weeks back. i replaced the ground wire terminal on saterday and i kept smelling a funny smell after i replaced it. it would also turn off for 5 sec. and turn back on. i have a kenwood amp and a type r. i dont remember right off hand what the model number is on the amp

They should make the coils laced with weed so when you subs do burn up, youll be to high to be pissed about it

theres alot of smart ***** here but anyway ill check the ground wire when i got to lunch. would the carpet cause it it to short?

the carpet shouldnt have nething to do to it cause its not metal of course so it wouldnt ground it out

i had a bad ground once, wasnt bare metal and it was getting so hot it was melting the carpet, melted hole in it
