Sub wattage question

If a dual voicecoil sub is running off an amp that is let's say 350x2 at 4ohm, does that mean the sub RMS rating is at 350 or at 700 rms?

As to what the sub is actually receiving, that would depend if the amplifier is running bridged or the sub is off a single channel.

Sigh your gonna get flamed for that lol but i'll be nice today and help ya . Just because the sub is hooked to that amp doesnt give it the power ratign of the amp you should find out the model of the speaker and get the info on it . Also the amp could not but pushign the full power to it depending on how its wired also the amp could not be putting out the rated power either. So jsut get ur model # and look up the specs.

Lol, thanks for the help. I should be clearer I guess. If a DVC sub is rated at 750watts RMS & I have an amp pushing 375x2, is that going to work? Is the 375x2 adding up to the 750RMS or am I only giving the sub 375?

I will be entirely dependant on the combination of the specific voice coil configuration for the DVC sub in question, the way those coils are wired in relation to one another, and the mode your amp is run in (4 ohm stereo, 2 ohm stereo, or bridged 4 ohm mono)

Give us some model numbers of the sub and amp you have and we might can be of better help to answer what you're asking.

Ok, KICKER S12L7 12" SOLOBARIC dualVC - 4ohm

Rockford Fosgate 750x 4channel - Bridged to 375x2@4ohm

Yes, that'll work as long as you have exactly the same setting on each set of channels.

How do you measure that? 2 voltmeters?

Set the gains with a DMM (digital multimeter) or equivalent, and makes sure any bass boost (god forbid you use it) and crossovers are set identically.
