sub voice coil wiring

ok, dumb question, but size wire do you guys use to hook up the voice coils on the sub? 16 gauge ok since it's such a short distance?

16 might be too small bro depending on the subs i use 8 to 12

ok, the sub is 1000 watts rms, i'm gonna be putting 900 into it, heavy duty sub, weighs like 35 lbs. so i'm guessing i'll probly go with the 8 gauge to be safe then. thanks for the help.

im using 12ga. speaker wire on my subs.....you could probably get away with 8ga. power wire if you really want it to hold up
