sub question...

ok its actually a box question i guess but anyways....i have a 10" sub and it gives me the specs for a ported enclosure..which are 1.15 cu. ft, tuned to 39 hz, 1 port (3.5 x 10.25)...now will it be harmful to my sub if i were to build a bigger enslosure and tune it to a lower freq.???
