if u had a choice between 13w7 and an uberwoofer which would you choose. Right now i have a tantrum 1200. I have AA polyglass mids Great lpg tweet ran off a xenon 200.4. Which do you think would be good in my 90 gt mustang. The 13w7 or the uber. both probley in a 2-3 cube sealed box. forget about output im looking for SQ.

i had an uber....

i have no idea. tough decision.

i dont know anything really about the w7 1st person, so.

i can tell you that the uber kills the xxx and brahma in a sealed box.

i run a 12 w7 and a buddy has a sealed 13.5 w7 and i can vouch for it that it is very clean sounding sub and will not let you down spl wise either, i have not heard an uber though, so....

i had a 13w7 before sealed and ported. It sounded really really boomy to me and the transition between notes was terrible. but it could of been the fact that i was running a kx1200.1 at about .8 ohms and a 800.4 off a 75 amp alt.

don't run a 13w7 off a 1200.1 tantrum, you will not even come close to giving that sub its required rms - trust me i used to own both products

not powerful enough

i've had that setup in 2 different applications... once i upgraded to the jl1000.1 it was a night / day difference in performance

actually i was kind of pissed b/c i THOUGHT I was beating and on point but after I upgraded amps I found out what the sub could really do.

ummm the tantrum puts out more then the jl... what are you talking about. and it was benched way higher it wasent just rated higher.

i'll be glad to go into more detail...

look at the specs of the tantrum - the amount of amps it pulls then compare that to the jl 1000.1 per ohm load...

the jl puts out the same wattage while the tantrum changes

look at what this guy wants to put these 2 amps on a 13w7 which has a dual 1.5 ohm load meaning it must be ran at 3ohms but in more detail look at the tantrum's rms at the 3ohm load

finally I suggest looking at the powersupply

clearly the tantrum is a good amp however its not good enough to push a 13w7

Saying the tantrum would put more strain on his electrical system and may not be able to perform to its full potential....I could see that. Saying the tantrum can't make enough power @ 3 ohms....dont see that.

what's the specs of the tautrum at 3ohms

what's the specs of the jl 1000.1 at 3ohms

what's the rms of a 13w7

which is more efficient

the discussion is over again we can base this off math and paper or we can go back to real world results which is what I've experience and yes it was in 2 differnet applications - now you can be the dummy and get the tantrum on a 13w7 or you can be smart and learn from my mistake and not get a tantrum to push this power hungry 3ohm sub
