Sub Problems

I have been having some problems with my Type R lately. I have a older single 12" Type R in a ported box. When i start start my car and start playing some music sometimes i will notice my sub wolnt be as loud. Then one day i was setting my gains and i was playing a test tone and with out touching anything the sub all of a sudden got really loud and started playing really good w/o distortion or anything. So now sometimes when i notice my sub isnt really loud i will turn on a test tone and wait for the sub to get loud.

Could this be a problem with my amp?

it could be a problem with rca's or speaker connections too

i was thinking that but i wasnt touching anything when it all of a sudden it got really loud. i will check all the rcas and powers going to the amp.

just make sure you have secure connections

I checked the connections they were all good and tight, im using and old amp now that my neighbor let me borrow untill i bought my own, that could probably be the problem
