Sub Firing Direction

I have an SUV and was wondering if it makes any difference which direction the sub is firing. I can have my sub face up or to the rear. Does it sound any different or is it vehicle dependant??

It makes a difference, there are tools here somewhere - not sure who make it - SE-arch or something like that - it will help you figure it out.

If you go ported alot of people like to go subs up and port back... If sealed, then I would just try both and see which you like better.

I tried both upfiring and firing towards the rear in my Blazer and it didn't make much of a difference to my ears.
