Ya i know but I'm just wondering what was wrong with it i checked the terminal the amp and when I tested it with a meter it read oLWhat do you mean you took it apart?
If you totally disassembled your subwoofer, it's not gonna work anymore without a recone.
Okay...uhm, if you have a meter, hook it up directly to the coil(s). Depending on the impedance of the sub, each coil should typically read around 2 or 4 ohms. Make sure your meter is set to read resistance.Ya i know but I'm just wondering what was wrong with it i checked the terminal the amp and when I tested it with a meter it read oL
my sub just completely stopped working and I've done everything people have told me to do and they said it was an open coil or something like thatOkay...uhm, if you have a meter, hook it up directly to the coil(s). I don't really know. I'm not familiar with MTX's products, nor do I know if they even sell recones for their products. Besides, I wouldn't recommend subwoofer repair unless you're actually sure of what you're doing. For sure sounds like a bad coil, though, unless a connection came loose or the amp quit. Also its a mtx thunder 8000. Would it be worth reconing it myself?
