sub and amp wires

i have a 18"bl with 1ohm dvc..i have a hifonics brutus 2010d mono block amp.1 ohm stable..right now i have the sub wired -off amp to one vc and the +off same side of sub is looped to the other -vc..than on that vc the + to the amp..thats in series,i think that would be 2 ohm on the amp..if i wired the sub in parallel would that get me to a 0.5 ohm load or a 1 ohm??amp is not 0.75,0.5 or 0.25 ohm stable..will i risk the chance of smoking the amp wireing in parallel or is the way i have it wired now as good as its gonna get?http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=20600

it would give you a 0.5 load. i've heard of ppl running those at 0.5 dunno if it's a good idea or not.
