Sub and Amp Question

Hi, i currently have a 12in alpine Type-x running on an infinity reference amp which is suppsoed to get like 600rms at 2 ohms. i got the chance to buy another amp for a decent price...hifonics brutus 2000wattrms at 1 ohm amp(which really is overkill unless i decide ot add another type-x)...do you guys think its worth the upgrade to give mroe power to my sub? thanks.

Yes, more power will help get louder, plus it will control the sub better, with less chance of clipping.

You will be just about right on with the brutus and x combo. Your x wont see 2000 watts rms, if it did I doubt it could last long enough to hurt the x.
