Hey, i was thinking about getting two 12" alpine type r subs, but then i was thinking about 2 15" type r's. I have a 02' Cadillac Deville. Space isnt an issue, but my question is, would 2 15" subs be too much for the Deville? also, do subs in general still sound good even though the trunk isn't part of the rest of the interior? noob question. lol. thanks though.

It really depends on your own personal needs. Do you think that will be too much? Are you looking for serious output, or just something a lil bit more than stock? These are questions you are going to ask yourself.

As far as the trunk question, Caddys tend to be sealed pretty well, but a pair of subs in the trunk will fill the cabin with bass without any real problems, and stlll sounds good.

haha, you're right. the alpine type r description on their site says one 15" can handle 2000W/750 RMS. is that the max they can go? and what's a safe amount of rms and watts to give them daily? with that said, what amp would be perfect for 2 15"? thanks again

I am running 2 15" Type R's in a 1999 Nissan Maxima with about 3000 Watts runnin to both of them.. They handle it like a champ, but im pretty sure they are maxed out in my car/box. It is obnoxiously loud...I have never heard a rattle louder in my life.. All my friends think its rediculous... I have had it for about 3 months...still to this day when I am drivin at a quieter time of day with it crankin, I will laugh just because its rediculous. The Space isnt an issue..ALLLLL depends on the QUALITY and DESIGN of the box...end of story. And yes they can handle 2000watts IFFFF the box is built for them to handle that.

IMO how loud you want it depends on your wants. if you want extreme amounts of bass, then do it...theres no too much bass for a vehicle really, just for the person or people riding in it

but thats just my opinion
