I found a JL w6 for really cheap so i picked it up today. I already have a Sony xplod amp hooked up in my car from my old system, would this amp work for the jl w6v2 d4

what size is the w6?...but xplod amps kinda **** if there not powering xplods subs...i have 2 12" 1000watt xplod subs,1 800watt bridged(subs) and 1 600watt(speakers),xplod head unit,xplod speakers all around and its sounds awesome iv won 4 bass comps. in the 2 sub 501-1000watt class with this system...but iv powered my 2 1000watt audiobahn 1 i2's with the 800watt xplod amp and it sounded ok but way better on the xplod subs.....so try to go with matching equipment if you can

but i dont see why the xplod amp would hurt the w6 just dont turn the amp up all the way and blow it

The sub is a 12" . yea i know im going to be getting a new amp soon, i just wanted to make sure it wont be bad if i hook the w6 up to this amp. Is it going to sound shitty with the amp?

i wouldnt say shitty but it wont sound as good as if it had a JL amp on it that matched the sub ya know what i mean...just hook it up and see how it sounds and if you like it then keep it in if not keep it untill you get a new one
