Sub/Amp Combo - Need Input

Sup guys so I've kind of done my research on subs/amps and I think I've come to a conclusion but I need your guys' input on whether it's good or not:

12" JL Audio W1v2 (4 ohm SVC sub) - 300W RMS, 600W Peak

Kenwood KAC-8105D - 300W x 1 @ 4 Ohms, 1000W Peak (Class D mono amp)

The only issue is that someone on a forum told me that my sub might be a little underpowered (a problem that often blows out the sub) and said that an amplifier rated at 320x1 or 350x1 would be better off. Is this correct? How bad would it be to run the setup I have in mind?

Also I found another amp, it's the:

Rockford Fosgate R-500-1 Prime - 320W x 1 @ 4 Ohms for the same price as the Kenwood

HOWEVER, it is a Class A/B amp and from what I'm told Class D amps are better for subwoofers. I do like the Rockford Fosgate better because it comes with a remote volume control at the driver's reach, it's the same price as the Kenwood, and it's retail price runs for more so I'm guessing there might be something there too haha.
