Sub amp: Alpine MRP-M350 or Profile AP1200

I've heard good things about this Alpine and good things about Profile. I've got a 4 channel Profile coming in that will be installed driving my fronts and rears next week.

My current sub is an old Bazooka 10". Actually sounds ok now and I'm only driving it with a bridged 60w x 2 Sony amp. It's possible I might have to upgrade to some sealed 10's after getting the amp (I like tight punchy crisp bass) but for now the plan is to stick with the Bazooka.

Alpine: Mono Class D 200 W @ 4 ohms .08 THD S/N 90 db

Profile: 2 channel 200 W @ 4 ohms, 600 W bridged .05% thd. s/n 103 db

Alpines probably around $145 shipped

Profiles probably around $135 shipped.

I'm leaning profile.

if you are going to be running at a 4 ohm load the alpine won't give you the most power. I would get a dual 4 ohm sub and then run the alpine at 2 ohms. Or, if you want to stick with yoru bazooka and keep it at 4 ohms then I would get a different two channel, like the alpine MRV-T320, I had one of those and it was a very nice amp.

Thanks. So what are your reasons for picking the Alpine over the Profile? Cleaner power?

I'm curious as it actually has LESS power then the Profile. I've heard the Profiles put out pretty much thier rated power.

The alpine MRV-T320 is actually only rated at 40 watts. That doesnt seem like its near enough.
