stock HU converter problem. PICS

Just bought an 84 De ville, I put my Nissan HU in it(used a harness). Now I'm trying to put an amp on it so I bought a converter, which I'm sure I connected right. The problem is from where do I get the remote signal from, cause as soon as I hit ground on the amp(I've tried 2 different amps) it goes on protect mode. The harness already has a remote but I'n not sure that a nother wire from the HU has to be connected as well

Yeah I can't really tell what is going on from that pic, but I'll give you what I know.

Also, what do you mean by, "when I hit remote?"

The main wires coming from an HU, after all your conversions have been made should be:

Some RCA's, 1,2 or 3 sets - looks like the connector box you've been talking about takes signal from the speakers and out puts RCA signal - right?

Some speaker wires - 2 or 4 sets usually gray, green, purple, and some other color with a stripe down one of each color to differentiate between positive and negative.

The main power wire - usually yellow. This is where you're HU actually draws current. It is always live, even when you're car is off, that's why the clock still runs.

The "remote wire" - red wire that goes live when the car is turned on. It is a signal wire and nothing more.

The ground wire - black wire that runs to a ground some where in your car.

The last three are usually bundled close together. (power, remote/"signal," and ground)

You need to run a wires from your RCA's and from your remote (red) wire back to your amp.

BTW, what amp do you have?

its a dhl amp which i know works cause i upgraded and took out from my truck. the remote wire(blue) is the one i haven't connected yet, I'n sure my hu dost come with one. I thought that I could just run that fron the HU 12volt source

The wires you should be tapping off of are:

(These are all on the factory Cadillac harness)

Rear Right +/- : Dark Green/ Light Green

Rear Left +/- : Brown/Yellow

Acc:pink? (Could be a different Color but will be right next to the orange wire)

If you are using on of those remote turn on generators then the other wires are:

Ground: Black

Constant: Orange

If everything is connected correctly in your conversion (And you are using a reverse harness from metra or scosche) then the wires you can be hooking up off of are

Rear Right +/- : Purple/Purple Black

Rear Left +/- : Green/Green Black

Acc: Red

Constant:Yellow

Ground:Black

I hope this helps as I don't full yunderstand what is happenning
