Im in a toss up between this and the 40.1. But im leaning toward a 40.1. Just cuz itll do .5 daily and 1 ohm daily. Still a great amp tho!
I think people have loaded these amps down to that before with no problems.Im in a toss up between this and the 40.1. But im leaning toward a 40.1. Just cuz itll do .5 daily and 1 ohm daily. Still a great amp tho!
Yea, but daily? Plus i like what the 40.1 will do on 16V when the time comesI think people have loaded these amps down to that before with no problems.
No i havent installed it yet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif But i plan to wire my HDC3's to 4ohms just to see what kind of power i can get out of it @ 4ohms @ 14v+ and that will just be temporary. But my plan this summer is to put 2 15" IA DP's/DC Lvl 5's/Omegas/BTL's in a half wall and run them @ 2 ohms. With my electrical, I'm hoping to see close to 6k out of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But who knowsSo OP...did you get it installed yet?
And all you guys constantly speculating about the 4k2d... I've had mine for about 3 months now and not once have I ever had any issue with heating or it going into protect. I'm currently running it at 2.67 ohms (before rise) to three RD Sonance 12s" and previously I had it running 4 of the same 12s" in a sealed box. My current setup is definitely louder and sounds just as clean. I would have to guess I'm getting 2500 or so TRUE RMS watts at this load. I'll be clamping it this weekend to find out.
Let's see what the OP has to say once he puts it in...

its rated at 5500w at 2ohms with 13.8v. so if he could do 15v at 2ohms i dont see why not. of course its not a perfect world so its not gonna happen. Not in your wildest dreams, fegger
But in your case we both know the wonders of using 8ga on an amp. lolWAT ?!
Smack them for me Jeff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
With the right electrical the most I've tested out of a 4k2d on music was two weekends ago. He had a big alternator and three group 31 batteries. 4500w at 3 ohms after impedance rise from 1.5ohms with voltage into low 12's. So 5k is possible but you'll need the electrical to do it with a low impedance rise. If your impedance is 2ohms nominal and you can get your rise to no more then 4ohms with good electrical and good wiring you're looking at 4000w minimum. Amp is very voltage dependent so that's the key.No i havent installed it yet.
