Stetsom 2K6 vs. SAZ-1500's strapped test

Posted on SMD... my 2 cents anyway.
Like I said over there, I don't even see why this is up for debate.
yea i shouldnt have used the word debate. i was just pointing out flaws in the designs and why it should not be ran daily IMO. thanks for joining pretty soon he(team bassick) will cling to you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

It just seems silly... every other powerful amp ever designed uses a great deal of devices to spread out the load, there is a good reason for this. Can it be done with less? Sure, Stetsom did it and made alot of power. Does this make it a good idea? Not really.

I think you killed that thread with that post lol.

But seriously, it doesn't like look an amp that puts out 7K daily. I have very vague knowledge of amps regarding parts (types of mosfets etc.) but even I can tell its not what it claims to be. I recently saw the inside of a Memphis 4k in person and it looks way more beefier than the Stetsom. Hell the 1500D looks like its not too far behind in power. I would never run an amp like a Stetsom. They kind of remind me of Boss. Big power claims and a small *** board with hardly any parts.

Seems to be a lot of company nut huggers here. What does the way an amp looks have to do with reliability? I've seen amps a lot beefier than the 7kd that can't do close to rated power.

If where going on how an am looks, has anyone ever seen or tested a Mmats pro audio 3500.1, 3500.05? It's one of the smallest amps for a case and has hardly any internals but does it's rated power and does it well. Take a look at the beefed up competition 4000.1 mmatsproaudio.com That's a beefed up version of the 3500.1.

I'm not saying anything bad about any other companies on there seems to be a lot of misinformed people about Stetsom product.

Has anyone ever considered it's not about the quantity but the quality? And just like you said "I have a vague knowledge of amps regarding parts". This goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover.

I'll be the first to admit that the Stetsom 7kd 16volt version won't do 7k but it will do 6k for music at 1ohm given enough battery. And it will do every part 7k and more given 16volts. But that's why there are now two versions of the amp. 16volts and 12volt version. The 12volt version does every bit of 7k at 1ohm on 12v.

I have a Team Sundown member that used to run Stetsom and it took him *months* to get a replacement. I understand that they are new in the USA but it should never take that long to take care of a customer.
Is this team member named Ray. If that's the case it wasn't Stetsoms fault.

nothing at all. im just still sad about it. =( IMO, if i had the money I'd buy a 7k 12 volt. good amp in my book. i have a friend that has one, and he loves it!!!
I have one too but it's the prototype. It's killer so far and will be testing it vs the new finalized version at SBN at the end of the month. I'll be testing the 8k soon too. I'll be posting my results when I do.

So you mean to tell me there is no correlation between number of parts and amp output? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Well then how about I take out all 50 something Mosfets I have in my ProMos-450, Then I'll replace them with 3 expensive ones and rate it at 7k. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif You win dude. Do you feel better now?

You just proved how much you know about amplifiers. You win. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif Maybe before you start talking you should do some research on a product and how it works.
