There's a nice little debate on SMD about the Stetsom's too. Pretty good info too.

Yeah the last few pages did become one big repetitive mess. You guys just could not get through to that guy and he avoided half the shit you guys were asking him.

Test was Street-A style with one battery and car off. Two 1500Ds vs. one 7kd. This was done in September last year, surprised it's not more well known.

But what you fail to mention is that drop in was at 1ohm on the Stetsom to 1ohm strapped on the two 1500D's. The Stetsom gains at least 1 db from 1ohm to .25ohm. And you're not going to get full power out of a 7kd on a single battery. Keep adding more battery and the Stetsom doesn't stop producing power where as the 1500d's will peak. Not saying anything bad about either amps just bring it up.

I just read the post on SMD and the whole bashing Stetsom is from a person that hates someone that worked for Stetsom. He has no experience with the product what so ever and is just saying what he doesn't like about the construction of the 7kd. Nothing against the guy (cuz I know him) but that's what it seems to be about.

His "facts" are things that he's trying to point out to say that Stetsom doesn't have quality build or product. Stetsom is a huge company and has high quality standards. Are there things that could be improved on the 2k6d and the 7kd? Yes, but that doesn't mean the product isn't good quality. Stetsom has proven itself in the competition circuit and for daily use. But just like every product out you hear more about the bad and not as much about the good.

As for Alan, he's a guy that has a big heart but doesn't use his head. I'm not defending him because I believe everything I hear and I understand where everyone comes from. Alan isn't the guy you want to sell or defend Stetsom. lol He's the guy you want help from with your system.

Say a water hose engineered to flow 30gpm at 10 psi with 0 failures...let's put the pressure up to 30,000psi and see if it'l flow 40,000 gallons a minute without bursting!!! Wonderful idea right?

Where did you read about them smoking at 1 or 2 ohms? They'll run at .25ohms for spl with no problems but music I wouldn't do any less than 1ohm.

I've seen a number of them go oof: in bass race scenarios...daily driving scenarios...not being abused, ran at 1-2ohm nominal load...hell the one rich had shut down on him after 10mins of beating...

If that's the case then at least Stetsom has a good warranty program. I personally own 5 7kd's and have yet to have an issue. But to each there own. I can only speak for my personal experience and testing.

Yeah, sorry about that jeff.

There are just some serious nut huggers that I can't stand and when dante gets tossed into the mix it just makes things worse unfortunately.

Under the right conditions the amps could do some good power, but I still feel they aren't designed for daily driving situations. Especially in the context that alan tries to put them in.
