Starting to lift....

There's a guy in my gym that's about my size 5'7-5'9, probably weighs no more than 150 lbs and he benches close to 300 lbs. Genetics make a big difference. Some people are good at benching while others **** at it.

You prove my point. He's short. It's a leverage thing. Someone 6'4" is going to have very long arms which means there is more leverage working against him and the weight has to be moved a much greater distance as well.

go to any highschool, im like the same size as half the junior and sophmores...
I am 16 as well, and everyone around that height is above that weight (that I know of, I dont do interviews...) But 155 is below average, at least in Florida... Maybe its something in the water? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

What's that supposed to mean. People on andro see increases everyday. People on HGH see as well. People supplementing protein because they don't get enough in their daily diet also see benefits.

Shut up, you're small //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
But I would actually like to see a picture of you... I dont know anyone that tall that weighs so little.

Added- I am 6' even and weigh just shy of 215.
im 5' 8 130 lol

yeah my friend ray who lifts with me is much shorter i am 6'2 hes like 5'6 and i have a much harder time at the same weights because i have to lift them a much greater distance..

I'm 5' 7" and 131 lbs on the dot. I barely work out. I can only do the bench because I have one in my basement.... My 1RM is about 260. I prolly bench 2 times a week, And thats on a good week. Once I Finally get a car I see my self doing 3 45 plates each side in 2 months.. Thats 315 lbs.

Confidence and testosterone. Thats all you need.

da9mmmmmmmmmm

Joshpoints, your wrong. First of all, i said i was 6'4" 205 NOW, go back and look. When I was sixteen I was 6'3" 225, if thats much of a difference. And yeah, I have to push the weight a far ways. If you got hair on your sack, you have testosterone, I dunno if you're a late bloomer or whatever, but if your lifting at 12/13/14 you will see gains, albeit small gains. I was repping with 95 when I was 13, and 155 when I was 14. When I was thirteen I was 5'5", I was 6'1 when I was 14.... so a majority of my gains were when I was turning 15, both in bench and in size.... hmmm? Jeez I dont see the connection. Maybe the blessing of my height is the reason why I couldnt do as much as my brothers at those ages.

Believe it or not. Either way it dont matter to me. I'm only two inches taller than my brother and 10 pounds lighter, and he was doing 445 at my age.

So you grew 8" in 1 year? Wow that's hard to believe unless you were being fed HGH and didn't know it.

Sorry thread creator this has gotten off topic. Don't expect gains like this guy is saying unless you are using some strong supplementation that I wouldn't recomend.

so aside from the 12 yr old bickering and ****....

a site i started using a while ago which is pretty cool to start out on is freetrainers.com

You can input all your info, and choose the type of program your are looking for. It will calcualte a diet to shoot for and gives you your workout based on how many days/week you wanna work out and the equipment you have acess to, etc.

if you r kind aunsure of where to start maybe try it, i altered some of the things they told me, but overall it was pretty deadly... good luck
