i design boxes .......
i got a 18" ssd i was wanting to trade for a 15 or 12 that could take more power and less room. and someone told me that they heard that the ssd's were junk. i don't think its to bad, would probably be even better if i had in a box bigger than 1/2 the recommended size.

anyway i was wondering what everyones (that has had REAL experiance) opinion of the SSD was. thanks.

ive done builds, both builds with 2 10s, one build with flatwind coils and one build with coppers.

right now im running the copper coils, very smooth transitions, gets vveerryy low. lower than the flatwinds did. i have both woofers now on a zx1500.1.

before, i was running the flatwinds. i fed up to 1200w daily to them and they never gave me problems. extremely loud.

personally, i like the copper coil ones better now..more sq while still ppoouunnddiinngg

what size box? ported or sealed maybe i can help a friend out

I liked the ssd. I decided on the Q overall. The Q costs more and is engineered to be a better driver as it is placed higher in the lineup. I am a huge fan of the Q. For the first time since I have been involved in car audio have I been satisfied with SQ and output to the point of not wanting to upgrade. That really is saying a lot for me, every other part of my system has come and gone with the exception of my mids and highs amp, which btw, I just bought a new one to power my mids and highs.

Moral, for the price point, the ssd's are very solid. Def not junk as your informant had stated.

i didn't think it was that bad at all. it gets pretty loud for being in a 3ft box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Is that 3cf sealed? If so, there is a lot more in that sub. Basically choking it out. It is all in the install. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
