False. Porting gives you an ever diminishing boost as you go above or below tuning, for about 1/2 octave above tuning, which certainly wouldn't be to 75Hz with a tuning frequency in the 30-40Hz range. You know sealed is better accuracy wise in general but i think your forgetting one major fact, every sub is different, depending on specs of subs there ARE subs that perform better in ported enclosures, as long as there built correctly. And depending on the ported frequency it will give more output over the mainly used frequency's, aka ported and sealed may have same output at 100 hz, but from the mainly used frequencies for me anyways of 35 hz - 75 hz the ported box is louder over that WHOLE band.
Doubtful. Once again, the Type Rs have more displacement, and higher efficiency.possible for two 10 ssd sealed to get louder then two 12 type r?
If you actually measure it, you won't find that to be the case. Porting will not provide any boost in output a full octave above tuning, it's just not how ports work. The difference you may be hearing can also be related to the alignment of the sealed box you are using. You know i've never termlabed those upper frequencies when switching between sealed and ported but I will swear there may no be much but even when i switched to my 32 hz tuned box that 70hz range gained a little, i know at least it didn't loose any, so all gain and no loss why not go ported? If its a good subwoofer and a not oversized ported box it will be just as accurate as the sealed in my opinion anyways.
YOU have to define what is better.Interesting.
so, which will sound BETTER?
