SSA Evil6.5 Information

The evil 6.5s have been out 2-3 years. There is all the info one needs on them online. Not sure what u mean by that. With the power you have crossing them as low as 60-70hz will not be an issue. They are pretty nice mids all around. ScanSpeak Classic 6.5s are also a solid choice for a mid driver. Paired with a set of Seas Neo tweets would make for a very nice FS.
Total time out is a little over a year if I remember correctly. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I wouldn't cross the evils below 80hz. They don't like playing down there.
Though I don't suggest it, we had a couple of guys playing down to 50hz. One did demo's haha.

200+ watts per evil and you will be good. Otherwise get something else. Their RMS ratings need to be adjusted lmao.
Who is running that much power to them?

Check history of my post 2013-2014 and you would see I have used every piece of equipment I listed above. As far as listed rta's and whatnot they must be taken for what they are. Pre break in, in optimal settings which is not what a vehicle will provide. Most companies listed above built drivers without even the thought of being used in a cars environment. As far as SSA i have no love or hate for them so to push or damage their rep would be purely a waste of my time as IDC.
No love??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif :(

plenty of people on diyma and some guys on youtube. They all said the driver really woke up when you throw gobs of power to them in both SQ and output compared to just putting them on rated power.

Interesting, all I saw on DIYMA recently were people ripping me for not having our 3rd party testing done and in turn others made it out to seem like the speaker was lower end because we didn't provide it yet. (Side note, the 3rd party testing is currently happening, just a very slow process).

we have a member on here too that were not happy with the output, I recommended them to put more power to them by bridging their amp and they said it made a huge difference as well.

Just to clarify, we are not trying to make the Evil65 a PA driver at all. That is not the design or the intent of it. The underhung motor design with phase plug, can give some people the presence of dryness, as in lacking warmth from distortion (aka lack of character). The moving mass is very light and the Evil65 is quite at home with as little as 15 watts. I used multiple amplifiers during prototyping and a tiny class-D 2 x 15w was one of the amps.
Wasn't attempting to apply they're or were designed to be so PA drivers... They got loud! and didn't break up at the upper volumes.

Yet I did find them to be peaky! , so while not PA loud definitely above average..and like pa's Ive heard peaky ! also no character... just wasn't for me . Though I did just recommend them yesterday for price and fit of anothers sound taste

I understand that, just didn't want others confused. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Thank you for the recommendation. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

All,

Thanks for your help and input on this matter. Purchased the NVX XSP65 mid woofers and a set of Massive Audio CT2 tweeters. Just so everyone is aware the ts parameters on the NVX woofers are not exactly the same as the SB versions on Madisound. These have a slightly higher qts and fs. Also purchased the Rockford DSR1 DSP but that is backordered till Oct 24 so I may try them on an AudioControl 2xs I have laying around until then. These will be run as an active setup and I'll be comparing the CT2 tweeters to the Morel MTD 12 I have now in my Mazda CX-5. I will post my subjective review with maybe some REW RTA shots as well.

Thanks
