The cone is made out of plastic, whenever it hits it sounds like the cone itself is making noise as the sub flexes.
I've seen other videos where it seemed like it was doing the same thing.

I've also heard this. I dont know that its true or not, but L5 and 7's do thump harder, so I would guss so.

Not true! Maybe you haven't heard that many subs, but there's a lot of subs the same size that will out thump L5/L7's. SoloX's thump might be hard to beat?

I never noticed any noise with the L7 that I had. It just played sloppy.
