I just got my enclosure finished on Saturday, Would have been done a couple of weeks ago but weather up here in Seattle was Relentless!
Anyway this enclosure was built by a good friend of mine who has done all of my custom jobs since 05. He does one hell of a job and very detail oriented. I told him to leave the port un painted as I will do that part later //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Anyway The sub stage consists of the following.
Lightning Audio S4.1000.1D Wired to 1ohm seeing 13.5v
Amplifier was Tuned using a O scope/DMM @ 5v pre-amp out from the Line Driver
Load on amp: 1Ohm
Output Voltage 31.62
Subsonic set at 30Hz
Roughly 200rms per sub
2 gauge ground and power Streetwires.
1 HC1800
Subwoofers, 4 Sundown E8's (Woofercooker recones)
I really havent gotten much chance to play with it yet or open it them up I have been allowing them to have some break in time (around 25-30 hours) of playtime before I re do the gain settings.
So far I am very impressed with these little monsters. They really shine with Rap RB and Bass tracks.
They do good with Rock (I will have my epicenter in later) some better then others but I believe my Box was more designed around low bass.
I would recommend these to anyone lookings for a solid 8" subwoofer. I have only played with a few 8" subwoofers in all my years of car audio and I'll say it, These woofers get the job done. The price I paid was a steal of a deal and well worth every penny.
They also seem to want more power! but I think pushing them at 200rms (their max RMS raiting) is more then enough to get them loud.
I am not very tech savvy when it comes to subwoofers IE short ring vs non short ring woofers the different motor styles ect ect so my review is not very technical sorry..
I'll have some videos up sometime soon so for now you'll have to settle with some photos.
In closing, 50+ shipping is what Woofercooker is letting these little gems go for... I paid more so he is letting these go at a **** near 5 finger discount! If you want 8" subs get ahold of him asap these subs are well worth the money and your time!
