Ok, so I have a possible deal to trade for an Atlas 15, and I just want to explore my options before I make this decision. First off, the next sub I plan on getting I want for sq and I want it sealed, so it will hit the full range of bass nicely, something that will blend well with the ologyaudio dayton component set (highpassed at 80 or 100hz, 100 should be good if I go sealed I think). Now, how would the atlas 15 sound sq wise, and will it get decently loud? Because at that power it doesn't seem like it would get very loud. Also, would I hear all the notes hit nicely, or should I try something else of my options (next paragraph)?

Now, the options I was thinking are: 1 15 run off of 600rms or less @ 4 ohms; 1 15 run off of a orion 1200d 1200rms or less, DVC 2 hopefully (for the 1200 watts) but I don't think there are any SQ 15's that take more than 600 (I think, could be wrong); another option would be 2 12's running of an orion 1200d (dvc 4's so i can get the 1 ohm resistance).

Now, I'm not exactly sure about the 15's either way (orion or my current amp), for the 12's I was thinking Rl-p s (i'm not really sure of any other sq subs). So, could someone post some suggestions on some other possiblities and advice on this? Yeah I think the Rl-p idea would be great, I have one right now. I plan on ordering one more to put 2 12's in a sealed box also. Not going to buy it, it's either trade for this atlas, or wait and get something else/possibly better.

So...can anyone answer the other questions in my original post?

I have 2 jl 12w6v2's in a sealed box, they hit almost everything sound amazing and get crazy loud off of 400rms apiece I give them 700 a piece though but they will take less or more as well.

I was running a sx 15 in a 4.0 tuned to 32 and these jls in 1.5 or so sealed get alot louder and sound so much better.

Hmm, nice, must be loud as hell if they get louder than an SX with that box, anyways are these the JL's that people talk about are best for sq or what?

And does anyone know the answer to my question about the atlas, I need to know If I should keep netherland on hold about it or move on. Thanks guys and keep the suggestions coming.

yea these jls get great sql, I have been playing with caraudio for 10 yrs now and so far these are my favorite subs.I had a pair of 12's last year and sold them when my gf was having our daughter I thought I was done with caraudio. Now I got back into it this year and made sure I got another pair. But now I am selling them again to get a sled, but I love the sq of these and how loud they can get.

Ask REQ about the atlas I havent heard one of them yet, and he will be hearing my jls soon so you can ask him how they sound compared to the atlas.

Well this is easy for me anyway. I would get the Idmaxv3. Those are some of the best sq sounding subs made. I will be getting those soon hopefully. I have never heard an atlas. The rlp's would be a good choice as wll but still like the 12" idmaxv3. Good luck!

This is a hard thing because everyone has diffrent tastes, I heard the idmaxv3's and didnt like them compared to my jls but it could of just been the install or what I have heard them in 2 cars and in a showroom. I personaly think the jls smoked them, but thats only my opinion. You have to see what people have heard or had and go from there and listen to them on your own and make your own judgement on these because everyones sq taste is not the same.

Hmm, i think 2 15's would be too big for my trunk, I think, what about 12's? And, is it worth just getting just the one 15 or would that be pointless?
