I think these are gonna get used in my home theater, probably in a large ported box tuned low, like in the neighborhood of 15 to 17 Hz. Should be nasty, and i've got about 2400 RMS on tap for the pair.

i do NOT like to mess around!! Probably getting a miniDSP to handle eq for the sub as well.

Got a couple questions.

I have a 1st gen alpine type r 12 that blew up that i got from a friend.

Think it would be worth turning it into a 8?

Also i have a massive audio dmx 15 motor that i might want to turn in to a 8. is that possible?

the type r would make a nice 10"-18" being a 3" coiled sql woofer would be a waste making a 8".

the massive dmx yes could become a 8" but you would have to reverse mount it...

its a 1st gen type r, the one with the 2.25 or 2.5" coil.
