Update: Finally completed the bastard thing, and for my second box, I'm rather proud of the build... Still have to carpet and add some terminals. I also plan on adding a huge bracket so I can chain the bastard thing to the frame of my car. Will be using security screws as well.

that bastard thing looks pretty nice. I really like the looks of the bracing.

About the sub firing right into the port. Is that really a bad thing??? My box is the same way. I mean, air doesn't constantly flow out through the port. Doesn't the sub cause a push-pull motion for the air? My sub/box sounds fine... would it sound better if my sub was in the middle?

Yea... I see alot of people mounting the sub in that position, and none of them have problems... so I'm not to concerned with that. But here's some more updates.

I had to reach in through the speaker hole and through the brace just to caulk/silicone the inner chamber. It was intresting....

I'd give you a 10/10, but I can see wires.... so that's a minus 9 pt deduction. [1/10] LOL j/k very clean.... Did you make that port baffle thing yourself?

Ohh... it's a piece of MDF with a roundover bit.... painted black... I got some leftover MDF. Maybe I should make a rectangular version of that =)

Hey Why do you need to put caulk around your brace? It doesn't really matter if thats air tight or not, does it?

Yea... I wasn't sure whether or not to put it on... In the end I decided it couldn't hurt, so I did.

I dont' think that would look right w/ your box.

Yea... maybe your Right.... but my carpeting job around the port look like $hit in the past... Any suggestions on carpeting the port area?

a few thoughts...like that one guy said, i would have put the sub more to the left and maybe put two braces, one on each side...(you can't ever have too much bracing lolz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif )

and i would have rounded the braces inside, makes it alittle bit stronger i think, just a personal preference...
