2002 Jetta, Installing my front stage and all new wire before installing my amp for my front stage. Here is my issue:

I have had the headunit 1/0 big 3, 0awg main power x-over, subs and amp installed for about 6 months. I purchased some speakers and tweeters because my stock one in the passenger side blew.

My stock speakers have 4 wires at the connection two for the mids and two for the tweeters, Im bypassing that and using a crossover. I went to test the speaker after installing and I had no sound from either of the front two speakers. Unhooked the speaker while the radio was on and the drivers side started playing. Turned it off and back on and no sound at all again. I have tried another speaker wire. Connecting it to another speaker output, switched to another crossover and today I met up with a guy and bought a cheap planet audio head unit for $100 just to change that out and test it. Same issue. The only thing that I havent swapped out is that speaker. Any ideas why this is happening? btw... No amp to the door speakers yet. I wanted to get these in before I started installing that one. Thanks -Kevin

Have you checked to see if you have a factory amp?

Also ALL jettas are can-bus so removing speakers can burn out your stock amp or your data line coming from the antenna.

That makes sense as to why my radio signal is now weak. I am bypassing the stock amp and wiring straight from the head unit to the speakers but I have only done one side. When I noticed this issue I put a hold on the install. Ill try doing the other side and see if it helps. Thanks
