Speaker/Tweets best choice

I am running a new alpine type r sub with an alpine amp. Was thinking about picking up some new tweets and speakers as well and have my mind on some of these ----> Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.

Mainly for their quality and to match the rest of my sound system. But was wondering besides the looks if there was better speakers than these because I have not really experimented with any speakers/tweets and I don't know the current best brands. I will gladly chose another brand if the quality is a lot better! If not I am going to go with these ones! Any recommendations?

I've been impressed with the type R components when I've heard them installed. I wouldn't pay MSRP of 300$ for them, but if you could get them for 150-180 they'd be decent.

i have previously ran the type r's and i would recommend staying away from them. mylows10 recommended some cdt's to me in another thread. i finally had a chance to listen to a set of the hd's this week and i was pleasantly surprised. i currently use boston acoustic pros which are nice sounding speakers, i paid over $400 for them, so im not comparing them to garbage components. i know when i am ready to purchase i will be contacting mylows10 for some cdt hd's. you should read some reviews and try to listen to a set. then check out how much they run and u will see he is giving you an opportunity to own a better set of speakers then u most likely would not have got in your budget, its cool he helps people on the forum out.

CDT is on my same blacklist as Bose. My list of grievances is long and i prefer not to bash products. So that's all i'll say about that. Some people like them, maybe you'll be one of them. Installation is more important than what brand you have.

Type-R is a solid component set that is well made. And you have access to actual specs, not just marketing. They will sound as good as the installation.
