I guess i've been through a lot with these rainbows recently..
The first midbass that was damaged was because of water in my doors, so I had to take that out. i'm just running off the one now.
i havent done a single thing different since the first one went out, but I was just driving down, had it at the volume i always keep it at (50/62 at 60% gains) and i hear it distort pretty badly, as i freak out and grab the volume button to turn.. it shuts off.
I run home, take off my doorpanel, inspect the speaker, touch the reverse mounted magnet and... I burn my finger. It was amazingly hot.
After inspection.. i turn the car on, and it turns back on. i leave it alone for a bit, then come back to head out. Keep it on around... 30/62? never went past 40. and then it shuts off.
never turned back on since.
any ideas as to whats wrong? already checked out all the connectors, the tweets are still running smoothly, so it can't be an amp connection.
