Speaker rings cracked, can i fix them?

When i built my enclosure it was my first time using aero ports and i didnt think the flares on them were that big. Anyway since i didnt factor that in i had to use some speaker rings to elevate my subs so they would fit inside the box without hitting the ports. I glued them overnight with the clamps on. Today i was playing around and decided to turn my amp up a little bit more to see what it could do. Went for a half hour a drive and everything was fine. I got home and went to turn the amp back down that little bit and i noticed cracks going almost all the way around the rings. I dont know about the back because i cant see back there. I turned the stereo on and i could feel air coming from the cracks. Anyway i can patch them up or save them?

Do you have screws going through both pieces of wood?It does appear the wood de laminated but something had to cause it.Do you have bracing inside the box?Maybe the baffle is flexing causing the issue?

And I agree on the resin idea.Maybe even kitty hair. That will give you a little more structure then just resin alone.

I drilled out some holes on the rings. I would say the screws are barely grabbing onto the rings, if any. I used 1" dowels for bracing, a total of 6 are in there. Side to side, back to back, and top to bottom. I have some fiberglass sheets. The rings are a little bigger than my cutout so there is a little bit on the inside where i can lay some sheets down and resin them in. Thanks for the help guys. Im probably just going to attack it with some resin and what not and make it look even worse then it does now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Yea, I would get a pretty good amount of clamps...put some wood glue in/along all of those cracks (inside and outside of the rings) and then clamp it down...wipe off the squeezed out wood glue and wait to dry...

Id then probably get some fiberglass resin and mat and go to town building up around the rings so they have some support..
