pardon my stupidity
I had a friend install a system for me (I normally do my own installs but I had to work and really wanted a new system). Well he gives me back my car and for the first few days I have a slow draw on my battery. I hunted down and found the problem while I was looking for the problem I also found out he tied all of the wiring together with electrical tape.
Now when I turn on my car I have a loud pop come from all my speakers. I never had this before he tells me its because my speakers are getting tons of power and all powerful systems do that. (Which I dont believe)
When he did the remote wire he spliced into it and has it going to three different locations. 2 to my 2 amps and one to a stiffening cap that he threw in for free. (I never asked him to install it he did it on his own. Dont hurt me.) Now one of my amps gets 12v at the remote but the other amp only gets 6v. Is it because of the way he ran it?
So my questions are How do I get rid of the speaker pop and is there anyway to fix my remote wire issue?
He said he added the cap because my headlights were dimming. Well guess what its a 1987 Oldsmobile I'm not surprised the headlights are dimming, thats why I'm saving up for a HO Alt and the headlights still dim must not as much so its still a waste in my book.

P.S. Dont flame the cap it was beyond my control.
Edit: also when I'm redoing his wiring and cleaning grounds etc. (He didnt sand off the paint) Should I solder or krimp (SP?)?
