Speaker Configuration

I have a 2006 Ford F150 Supercrew that has the standard (4) 5 x 7 speaker setup. In the front doors there is an empty hole above the 5x7's.

I am guessing that they are for upgraded audio option with comps that they offer.

Anybody have any experience with this?

Could a 6-1/2 driver fit in the 5x7 opening and the tweeters mounted in the hole above it?

Has anyone done this? If so please share your experience.

Man I hope this will work as I have tried to fit Boston Acoustic SL80's in the 5x7 opening and they won't fit without some mods.

Build baffles for the 5x7 holes. 6.5's will fit with a little modification of the door panel, I did the same thing on my Ford...

Did you install tweeters in the empty hole?
