Speaker and Power Ground Touched

I was messing around (don't ask) and touched my speaker negative (-) out on my amp to my power ground for the amp.

The sub just lowered in output and crackled a bit, then seemed to go back to normal once I took it off.

Is it likely that I've done ANY damage? My electrical knowledge is limited. Is what I did dangerous?
