Spark At Speaker Wire - Amp goes into protect mode

hey everyone!

So I am having a problem with my amp.

My current setup has been working great for the past 2 years, zero problems until last week..

I was going along and then boom my sub cut out and I realized my amp had gone into "protect mode".

I turned off my car and then turned it back on and everything was fine until I turned my volume up and them boom.. again.. sub cut off and the amp went into protect mode!

I unhooked everything from the amp, re-connected it all, tested it out and whenever I play my stereo at loud volume, there is a spark on my positive speaker wire where the amp is then it goes into protect mode and I can smell plastic burning..

Any suggestions on how to fix this please?

Thank you very much in advance!!

one of your speakers is blown out - or one of the wires inside your box is loose and is touching something and shorting out - or your amp is being run at an ohm load that is lower than its suposed to handle and is finaly giving up the ghost smoke

how are your subs wired to the amp and at what ohm load is your amp getting from them ? . how many subs do you have / what are the voice coils ohm ? - what amp do you have - is there any chance the speaker wire going from your subs to your amp has damage to it - and is shorting out or touching + to - anywhere along the leingth ?

also - stop playing your stereo until you get in there and investigate whats going on

its more than likely something is burnt up on your amp now if you saw smoke come out of it.

maby it can still work - but damage is close if not already there
