I got a HO alternator. It’s 220 amp. I just haven’t done he big 3 yet because the battery is in the back of the car. I’m definitely gonna need it though right?

Its worth the effort IMO.Esp. for a HO Alt and deff be good on your Battery life as well.

220 amps is very solid for an alternator. The amplifer you posted can pull 100 amps of current which is an issue for those running stock alts but yours is anywhere from 2 to 2.5 times higher than most stock alternators.

If I can run a pair of 10s and 12s in a Honda CRV with an 80 amp alt Big 3 with 2 ga, and 2ga power supply with that ELD By-pass, and two Group 78 AGM batts on an old school Mmats 300 HC, at 2 Ohms and ripple the hell out of my roof with a pair of 10s???Im sure he would be just fine on a single sub on that CT 1500.1,and get his electrical done up just a tad, and should be just fine.Those HDC subs need some power to get moving..I own a pair of 12s in that series also..They are Hoggs for the Need for power to perform. Thats why I say the HDS on that amp or an AB XFL. be perfect for either sub.And at least 2.0@32-35 Htz

I've seen a stock alt/battery run an HDC3 12 and the sub barely moved. HDC3 takes almost 100 amps just to meet the RMS, it takes some electrical to get that thing even close to it's potential (no point in buying an almost $300 sub when you can't even give it half the RMS).

I've seen a stock alt/battery run an HDC3 12 and the sub barely moved. HDC3 takes almost 100 amps just to meet the RMS, it takes some electrical to get that thing even close to it's potential (no point in buying an almost $300 sub when you can't even give it half the RMS).

I agree on that.HDS 3.1 series would serve better/just fine on that CT 1500.1..May see 800-1k rms out of it possibly set properly

Hmm..Never heard of that Brand myself..I may look that up to see how well they perform,and see if they are built to last and worth the $..Even a Bosh HO is better than stock as Ive used in the past.Some Alt shops carry those
