sound silencer

dynamat is HIGH and you pay for the name.. Look up FatMat.. you can get 100 square foot on ebay for like 130 shipped. You could double layer your entire floor and it would be quiet

FYI, I have heard WAYYYY too many horror stories about FatMat. I've seen pictures where it fell off of the tunk after only a few days. Personaly, I just ordered 40 sqft of SSA Damplifier Black to do my doors. Im prolly gonna order another 40 sqft of it for my floors and roof, unless Ant wants to hoof me up!!! lol Its a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

500 shipped is too high for a sub used maybe 20 mins for a box test? a sub that sells for 700+ anywhere else with out shipping...?
yep, because there are other subs that will outperform it for a cheaper price brand new //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

so could yoga mat be used? its treated with the urathane but would that keep the volume of road noise down? The corolla is an 86 and the exhaust is very loud. I use it to have fun with from time to time. And the car is very noisy inside the vehicle. So its about time I did something about it. It wouldn't be a bad little car to do some audio equipment in either. Also Second Skin Rep. I sent you a pm. How did the name come about?
If it is heavy enough it will help, but really, a yoga mat is not ideal for a car. Ideal for Yogo.

I realize that some of the sound deadening materials out there add up pretty quick, but it is always best to use a product that was desinged to do the job you need it to do.

For keeping out unwanted noise from the tires, engine, or exhaust, go with e anoise barrier. The most popular are mass loaded vinyl barriers with a open or closed cell foam laminated to them. We sell 2 different versions. If you want more info on them, let me know. There are a few other companies that sell similar items. B-quiet & SDS being two of them.

The MLV is the best approach for reducing unwanted airborne noise. Not a yogo mat..

Glad you like the samplesMost of our SPL guys see an increase of 1-2 db simply by treating the rood. Damplifier and Damplifier Pro will have no problem adhering to an upside dpown surface. Graet application for the product.

Yoga mat foam is closed cell, but it is usualy treated with a urathane facing for added protection kind of like a foam pool raft.

The foil is aluminum, but much thicker and stronger than the foil you would use in your kitchen. the minimum you should look for is 4 mils. this is 4/1000 inch foil. Stronger hard foil is always better than soft foil, but it is hard to tell when each company uses unless they specify.

If you want some samples, PM me with your full name and shipping address. I'll get you taken care of

Hi Ant, yesterday I finished installing the trunk pack and the door kits in my car. I`m using CDT HD-62 components with a 8W7 in the hatch, and I`ve never said this before which gives more credence to how true this is: I cannot believe your product. I went from having doors and the liftgate rattling from just driving down the road, to complete dead silence. The car is a Civic Si, and as such, it`s got a pretty high strung engine which can get pretty tiring to listen to after a while, but now, the noise I would say has dropped by at least 40%. When the sub is going, the gate feels solid and all you have is clean, smooth bass. The doors are about as dead as they can be without being made from solid wood and when you close the doors, you`d think you`re getting out of a BMW instead of a 2800lb Honda Civic.

So basically, thanks for making an outstanding product, and I`m recommending it to everyone I know!

Fatmat is pure garbage. It's useful for stopping your trashcan from rattling when you put it on the curb. That's it. Believe it or not, there is a reason why it's so cheap: it's a cheap product.

No problem. I'm gonna do my doors first, just before I put my sub in, I'll do the floors, back wall, and maybe the ceiling. I probably wont have everything done till the end of the year. Its gonna be a slow build. I dont have that much time and I live in an apartment complex.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
