Sound Quality peeps, what NEW SCHOOL 4 channel are you running and why?

I need to start looking for an amp for my highs too, I've been holding off hoping I would run across some old school gem.
How much is that zapco? Seems like I remember that brand from back in the day.

I no longer use eBay or I would have found something by now.
some are even less good ones $400 or more don't let the name fool u., it's a $99 amp with zap on it for $139 or more.. nothing wrong with it just not any better than some other $100 amps, i would think it close to a rf or something ST-4X II - Zapco 4-Channel 480W RMS Class AB Amplifier

Its not a myth, it soley depends on the speakers built but 95% of ovals out there are either below mediocre or trash so its a very fair generalization. Not everyone is smart enough to save up for an xs69. Like KHA just stated, beaming is a common issue with most 6x9s that arent designed optimally which is basically the whole market share. Name me a pair of 6x9 under 200 thats worth a d@amn.
It is a myth. Depending on how you situate it, it will beam like a 6 or like a 9. The XS69 and Audiofrog GS690 can be had for $300 for the pair. I never said it's for every install. That's not what I'm arguing. I'm just saying there's nothing wrong with using a quality 6x9. Especially if, like me, you have a vehicle that came from the factory with 6x9s.

Myth or not, nobody runs 6x9s anymore....that's an 80's thing. Get with the times bro.....use real speakers like 6.5" or 8". A lot of SQ even SPL installs use 6.5" speakers. Hell as large as 10" mids.
People do, so it's not nobody. I know. I'm getting ready to try and squeeze some Illusion Carbon 10s under the seats of my BMW for midbass duty. Again, it's not for everybody but if your vehicle came from the factory with 6x9s why not take advantage of it and get as much cone area in there as you can without having to cut up your door?

Your wasting your time using 10" mids. It's not like you have a monster 30K watt soundsystem that requires them. But as you said, it's your $$ and install. But I am entitled to my opinion. There's no need to cut up doors where 6x9 was when in fact you could do a baffle install with a comp pair of 6.5" mid/tweet combo. I have done this a few times and I'm sure people have here also.

I was talking about cutting up to run 8s or 10s.

It doesn't require them but I like my midbass. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Going to be running AF 4" and tweets with the Illusion 10s and two 15s IB. I haven't decided on what 15s to run yet though.

Tell ya right now...it's not gonna sound good. Midbass should be in the open, not in a closed area.

I would use 6x9s if I couldn’t fit a 8. In a 3 way.

They won’t do anything to the stage an 8 wouldn’t do.

And yes OP a dual amp ran within its limits will sound just like any other amp of the same real power.

If the 6x9 is a decated midbass I'll agree.

playing non omni directional frequencies under your seats is going to sound stupid. ie: 80 hz and up. Non round cones are tested and proven to have cancellation in certain areas where the 2 differing compound curves of the driver overlap in the soundstage.
