Sound difference?

I can either put a 6 1/2's or 5x7's in my back side panels.

In general, will one sound better then the other as far as mids go?

What is each one's strengths and weaknesses?

it really depends on the two speakers you choose and how well you seal each of them inside the door. The cone area size is really close so there probably wont be a noticeable difference

I have never been a fan of the "oval" style speakers. However, you can also look at the 5x7 plate systems as well. Those can be pretty nice.
