sound deadner inside box!!!

putting something that cancels resonance in something that suppose to amplify resonance...go on:popcorn:
misconception! works by mass loading a surface such as sheet metal creating a denser surface reducing outside noise and vibration.

I think the idea is to keep the individual enclosure walls from resonating, which would be at a different frequency than the overall enclosure tuning. That would affect total output. Same concept as using good bracing.

I'd expect no change at all. The vibration dampers we use as sound deadeners are designed for thin, highly resonant materials like sheet metal and plastic. They will have almost no impact on MDF. If the box is weak, brace it. If the box is huge and the panels are resonating with the frequencies produced by the sub, brace them to divide the panels and raise their resonant frequencies. Very good post on the topic here.

well i have 5 allthreads and a 2x4 for bracing. probly one of the strongest boxs for a trunk car. 2 gallons of resing inside and out. built with lots of glue and 2 inch coarse thread screws. i added it anyways and dont know if i gained lol. i broke my windshield so i am leaking air. ill have to wait to see any real change.
