sound deadening..

has anyone ever bought that sound deadner they have at circuit city? They have dynamat and then they have another brand, im not sure what brand but it is quite a bit cheaper than dynamat. Its 70 bucks for 20 sq feet. Anyone have bought that before? Is it any good?

Also I have read of some people buying some kind of weatherguard? at lowes or home depot? What exactly is the name of it and how good does it work.

Well, For $70 you can get a heck of a lot more deadening material online. Also, my bet is the stuff online is of better quality.

The DAMPLIFIER or Over Kill stuff? Is that the cheapest [decent] stuff around?
I was thinking RAAMat, but apparently it's only 62 sq ft for $100. Still, not a bad deal.

It's actually 62 sq feet for $100 something. It's great stuff, I suggest either RAAMat or Damplifier if u have money. If ur just cheap and want watever u can always get eDEAD (Elemental Designs) they sell too i belive.Today 02:02 PM
I stand corrected. However, I have heard bad things about the eD deadening stuff.

I believe you're talking about Peel and Seal, which I mentioned in a previous post.

OK so enogh of the riddles... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif RAAMat is the cheapest decent sound deadening available? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Raammat is the best u can get for the buck. Damplifier is the best u can get for ur money.
I liked my Raammat more than I liked my Damplifier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Now, comparing Raammat to Damp Pro, the above statement might be true.

I think Raammat would be MY pick... IMO.

Tests don't lie though... Second Skin Products seem to be the best from those tests and thoughts.

RE-LIVE!

Ok.... anyhow, I got major rattling issues on my rear deck, its terrible. im gonna get rid of it once and for all. Just i need to know where I can buy some locally, like at a retail store. Its just rattle from the plastic cover that my rear deck has. Sooo... anybody got some Ideas? Mayeb for the rear deck i can just use some kind of cheap... not foam, but more like....something soft to cussion the between the metal and plastic.

The test didn't compare them in an actual application...

The Raammat deadened just as well, adhered just as well, stands up to temperature just as well (any temp that you will see in an automotive enviornment), and IMO is easier to apply.

For example; Damplifier's aluminum backing would tear and rip extremely easily. So when forming it to shapes or pushing it down into crevices (or accidently rubbing something across it after installation), the aluminum backing would rip and tear almost every time. I've never had this problem with Raammat.

The SS performed the best by the criteria of the test. In the real world, when actually using the products, I prefered the Raammat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And considering it's cheaper aswell.......

Raammat is the last deadener I'll use, and the first deadener I'll recommend. You can spend a lot more and get a better deadener (Damplifier Pro, Dynamat Extreme), you can spend a lot less and get a worse product (eD V1, P&S, etc). But value wise, it's unbeatable. And when compared to regular Damplifier...I'll take the Raammat every time.

Im currently in the process of deadening my trunk/rear deck area. Will post pics when i get my camera... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I still need to buy my raamat... where can I get sum? links? For cheap. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Kinda. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Im ordering from here: http://www.raamaudio.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?p=pr&cert=e1c26f05d3a996b4b2a7eb74cdee5a19
