so i told my local shop that i was trying to improve my front speakers sound quality..and he recommend that i use dynamat extreme in the door panels...

i already have some dynaxorbs install behind my speakers to stop distortion or whatever...would adding the dynamat improve SQ at all?...are they just trying to get more $$$$ out of me.. any input helps!

im deciding on letting them do it or not...they are charging 140 total maybe + tax? for the dynamat xtreme door kit + labor...

i have to bring my car at the shop anyway because when they installed the dynaxorb into my doors, all of a sudden my trunk doesnt open when I hit the button on my door panel. Im assuming they unplugged one of the wires from my door to the rear trunk motor when the installer was messing with my rear speaker..

If you have the time and some know-how, I reccomend doing it yourself. I know sometimes that doors can be a pain in the *** and if your really dont care about the cost, then let them do it.. esp if you dont have the time.

If you can, go back in the install area when they do it so you can see them install it and make sure they dont do a half *** job.

Allright... everyone out!!! This is a thread Hijaking!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

There's a sticky in the Speaker forums. "Proper sound deadening and you." I believe is the name. Check it out, it should answer all of your questions and more.

What all do you plan to deaden? If you get a roll of RAAMat (100sq ft) for $100, you should be able to get everything you need. You most likely end up spending around that neighborhood with Peel and Seal. However, I've heard bad stories of Peel and Seal melting in high heat. I'd look out for that depending on your location.

Well, that will require a fair amount of deadening. I would suggest starting with a roll, 100 sq ft, if you need more you can always order more.

The DAMPLIFIER or Over Kill stuff? Is that the cheapest [decent] stuff around?

It's actually 62 sq feet for $100 something. It's great stuff, I suggest either RAAMat or Damplifier if u have money. If ur just cheap and want watever u can always get eDEAD (Elemental Designs) they sell too i belive.
