sound deadening question?

but the deadener should help with that. It will add mass to the lid, and decrease its resonant frequency, thus not jumping all over the place so easily.

lol. ill see what the deadening will do for me! isnt there a screw that i can tighten to make the lid tighter

Civics have one, so a Civic like vehicle may as well. Look for bolts like these:

It's easier if you remove the plastic trim piece. Loosen the bolts and you can slide the latch up and down to adjust. There are also adjustable rubber bumpers around the edge.
