Sound deadening in box?

All these answer are most likely just guesses. i speak from experiance when i say the only thing you will gain is a few tenths on the meter, and thats ONLY if its done perfect and super smooth. some of the usaci world champions have done it and max gain i have seen is .5 dbs. So if your chasing numbers then do it. otherwise its just a PITA
I did this once in the past just to set a record. I gained .2(I just needed .1 to set it). This was an already very well braced box and done while at a show in the middle of a nice hot summer day of course. I won't do it again as it was a huge pain and it was in no way worth it. Much like glassing the inside of a box. To me, you do not gain no where near enough for the time/labor involved.

cant stress enough how much thats true...

i have used liquid deadener on fiberglass enclosures and it dose help, with mdf there will be no gain. you can resin the inside of a box that helps sealing the box and helps more the air faster. your freq may change up to a hz or 2...
