Fatmat is asphalt based. This is generally considered bad because it doesn't adhere well. You want a deadener that's butyl based, like Damplifier, or Raammat BXT. That said some people will tell you if you're willing to put forth the effort to apply the fatmat correctly it shouldn't have any problems.

I haven't used it myself, so you'll want to do some more research. I've read you'll want to take time warming it with a heat gun (hair dryer isn't enough) and then rolling out any bubbles. Then reheat and reroll. Asphalt products tend to require a decent amount of heating to have any chance of staying stuck.

I have used fatmat on my car, along with the big names like Second skin and both seem to do the job. Now how long it lasts is another question. I will see how it goes through out the hot summer months. I will say it did get cold and didn't come off. I even tried to take both products off and had a hard time and left alone to test it out.

To get it to apply right, just make sure you clean the metal good and wipe it down and take your deadener and peel a part of it and lay it down, and use your roller, if you have one. If not, make sure you get one. Want to make sure you get the air bubbles out as best as you can. Also when you add a new piece, over lap them about half an inch.

That is what I did anyway and has worked like a charm in my trunk. I still have a lot left to do.

i just put that bulk pack of dynamt extreme on my front doors, inside and out

it took me about 3 full sheets per door....
