Sound Deadener

Well depends I guess. Some people think that just putting the deadener in spots will stop the rattles, other people say you should cover 100%. Me I am covering 100% due to me doing the latter and it didn't work out so well. So no it won't be enough if you want to 100% cover those area's. I used over 60sqft just in my trunk covering 100% of it.

I doubt if it's enough. It might be, but cutting it pretty close. I'd suggest you do the doors and the trunk first since that's where your mids and subs will be, respectively. Then if you have leftovers, do the floors //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Approximating square footage is very easy using one of these.

It will also depend on how many layers your using too. If your gonna double up on it then you might not have enough. I used double layers on my front doors, rear quarter panels and rear hatch door and still had some left to start the floors. I had to start in on another 50 ft roll to start the rear doors and the rest of the floor, we'll see if there's enough left for the roof too.

Yes sir, you are correct! Thanks and I knew that, but................my chair smells like ****! I hate when I relieve that stupid Loss Prevention guy before me. I am gonna have to break out the lysol and spray this bish down!

200 sqft and counting. This includes complete crap to very good. You name it, it's in my car. This does NOT include the "deadener" that was removed due to failure. Mistakes add up in time and $$$$.

Doors ~5 sqft x 3 parts x 2 doors (unless you have speakers in the rear). Easy.

The roof is can be easily estimated. 15-20 sqft, single layer.

Why is it called "sound deadener" when the goal, though it's proper application, is to make our sounds sound alive? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

is this gonna be enough?

Fatmat is asphalt based. This is generally considered bad because it doesn't adhere well. You want a deadener that's butyl based, like Damplifier, or Raammat BXT. That said some people will tell you if you're willing to put forth the effort to apply the fatmat correctly it shouldn't have any problems.

how exactly do you apply it correctly?

I haven't used it myself, so you'll want to do some more research. I've read you'll want to take time warming it with a heat gun (hair dryer isn't enough) and then rolling out any bubbles. Then reheat and reroll. Asphalt products tend to require a decent amount of heating to have any chance of staying stuck.
