Sound Deadener increase db's?

yes you did. there is some said rule of thumb thats like for every 1mm of panel movement loses .5 bd or something? im sure someone will chime in and give you the correct amount if thats not right.

i deadend my car once, it made all the music easier to hear because the road and wind noise was significantly less. not sure the music is louder but it definately sounds louder.

logically it would seem that dampening is a good idea. however there have been numerous people whom have done so and loss db's because of equally various reasons. Ive seen it myself in the lanes before - when people brace a particular car during a spl burp the meter actually reads lower....but when they step back from the car the score goes up just from the internal panel resonance/movement. My own team mate Eric (prochobo) ripped off his deadenr from his trunk hatch right there in the pits at world finals just to scrape up another .5 db.....which he did and took home a world title. So its hard to say with any particular certainty...just try it and see....
