Sound Dampening? plz help

Ya, it's sound dampening materials. They help absorb road noise, etc and stop panels from vibrating, hence lowering the noise level. The floor is popular to deaden because that's where most of your road noise comes through.

Actually, most automotive floors are already heavily dampened thanks to carpet and factory deadening. The doors tend to exhibit the most road noise to the passengers.

Dampening your doors to cover all the holes also helps with bass response of the mids you have mounted in them. Isolation of front and rear waves.

Ahm a noobie here too but dampening is ah big priority fer me. Prom the physics standpoint:

-Moving objests is called work

-work requires energy, so....

-energy is lost doin work (ie movin yer doors an pannels)

Imagine how much energy it'd take to move all them sheets of metal and paneling back an forth almost a hundred times a second. Thats how much potential sound energy yer loosin from yer speakers. It's alot!
